Who has time to make dessert? Especially a fancy looking dessert that looks like it came from a top restaurant? The kids do! Once they make this simple and delicious ice cream pie, they will want to make it over and over again!
This ice cream pie has only three ingredients, but you can vary two of the ingredients and have a different dessert every time! The ice cream pie that my kids whipped up yesterday had vanilla ice cream with a variety of candy bars mixed in. They used Snickers, Rolos, Reese’s eggs, Kit Kats, and Twix bars. We actually had leftover mini candy bars from their Easter baskets, and that’s what they used for the pie.

Our version of ice cream pie. Go ahead, and make your own!
The Three Ingredients
The three ingredients that the kids will need to make the ice cream pie are:
- 1 graham cracker pie crust (homemade or store-bought will do)
- 2 pints of softened ice cream, any flavor
- 1 1/2 cups of chopped candy bars, cookies, or other mix-ins

Look at those ingredients! How can this not be totally delicious!
That’s it! To make the pie, just put the softened ice cream in a large bowl and stir in your mix-ins.

Stir and sample, stir and sample!
Once combined, spread the ice cream mixture into the graham cracker crust. Wrap the pie in foil and freeze for at least one hour.

Why can’t we eat this right now?
Then just slice and serve. The kids can make the dessert just a little more special by drizzling chocolate, caramel, or a fruit sauce on each slice. Or they can decorate the plate with the sauces. The pie can be topped with nuts or chopped cookies for an extra crunch.

The kids made this….that’s a first!
There are endless flavor combinations that you can invent for the pie. The kids are sure to have fun thinking about what crazy flavors they want to make. So let them take over the kitchen and make dessert! You’re extra lucky if they do the dishes too!
