Have You Ever…? (The Food Edition)

Food.  We need it to survive.  Some of us may just leave it at that.  But, then there are some of us who: travel just to eat certain foods, love to cook every single day, wander the aisles of the grocery store just because, read cookbooks instead of the latest novel, and search out new restaurants to try every single weekend.  Most of us probably fall somewhere in between the two extremes, so here is a little food inspiration to expand your horizons.  (This post contains affiliate links for your convenience.  Read my disclosure policy here.)

Have you ever….

Have you ever traveled somewhere and eaten like a local?

Have you ever cooked the cover of a foodie magazine?

cook the cover

They look the same, right!

Have you ever challenged yourself to try as many new foods as possible in one week?

Have you ever let your kids plan and cook dinner?  Don’t tell them about the rule that if you cook, you don’t have to clean up!

Have you ever used your “special” plates and glasses just because?  If not, get them out now!

Have you ever eaten at a small town cafe?  Best breakfast ever!

Small town diner

Small, crowded, large portions, low prices, and the best food ever!

Have you ever eaten food on a stick?  Once a year at the annual state fair, right?

Have you ever written down your grandmother’s recipes?

Have you ever eaten your way around a farmer’s market?  Not since last week…

Farmers market

Local produce is so much more flavorful, juicier and tastier!

Have you ever gone to a restaurant just because you saw it on tv?

Have you ever had a “taste it” night?

Have you ever bought something at the grocery store simply out of curiosity?  I fell victim to Mochi.

This is Japanese ice cream. It won’t melt and you can eat it with your hands!

Have you ever taken the time to walk up and down all of the aisles of a supermarket?  Leave the kids at home for this one.

Have you ever visited an ethnic neighborhood?

Have you ever made a family cookbook?  Thank you grandma!

Have you ever tried to make something yourself instead of always buying it at the store?

Drying pasta

It’s not pretty, but it sure tastes good!

Have you ever eaten in a food competition?

Have you ever eaten a meal that was more than three courses?  Seriously, who is doing the dishes?

Have you ever been to a wine tasting, a food festival, or taken a food tour?

Have you ever picked your own berries or grown your own vegetables?

Have you ever drank bacon soda?  No?  What are you waiting for?

food inspiration thru soda

Bacon soda anyone? Or would you prefer sweet corn?

What is your next food adventure?

We have a little imports store here with those weird sodas, and I haven’t been able to bring myself to try them yet. haha

The sodas are fun! We got a six pack for a gift and sampled them all one night! I can’t say that we really liked any of them though…
