Oh, how I love coffee drinks! Mocha! Caramel Macchiato! Vanilla Latte! I love them all! The hotter the better! So, what happened yesterday when we stopped into a coffee shop for this weeks challenge? I ordered a Pineapple Black Tea Lemonade. What!? I know! This is what happens when you are challenged to try something new.
The first drink I ordered was a strawberry green tea lemonade, but they were out of strawberry puree. So I went with the pineapple. I am not a big tea drinker at all, but this drink was very fruity and refreshing. Plus it was icy cold, and perfect since we just spent the afternoon walking around the state fair in the heat.
The kids thought the drink was just okay. The tea flavor was too strong for them. My oldest decided that her new coffee shop drink was going to be a cookie dough cake pop, and she loved it. Of course, it wasn’t an actual drink but she at least tried something new.
If you’re wondering what I was drinking in the cover photo, it’s my old standby, a mocha. This one was made at a coffee shop in Montreal and tasted just as good as it looked!
Why we do the Food First Before Friday Challenge
Incorporating new experiences into your life doesn’t have to be a big event, in fact, it can be a simple first that can change your week. The main thing is to just try something new! So, I am doing a weekly challenge to try one new food by next Friday. Yes, just one new food a week. But just think, after one year, you’ll have experienced 52 new foods that you probably wouldn’t have even tried without this challenge! Each Friday, I’ll post the challenge and the results from the prior week.
Next Week’s Challenge
This is going to be a big one! So big, that we are making it a two week challenge! The challenge is to try as many new foods as possible. Try whatever you want, as long as it’s something that you haven’t had before. Ask your family what they’ve always wanted to eat, and try to make it a reality! Have fun and count the number of new foods you sample!
